Strawberry Botanica is a niche family business created and run by Helen Allen. Helen trained as a textile designer and then as a botanical artist and illustrator. She has exhibited internationally and most recently in September 2005 at the Mall Galleries in London.

Botanical watercolour paintings on paper or vellum are a fusion of scientific accuracy and aesthetic beauty, and - of necessity - take many hours to complete.

Exhibiting is great fun and the sale of a painting is exciting. However, parting with a painting can be sad. Superb giclée prints and greetings cards are a way of retaining these images and sharing them further.

With her son, Will, Helen designed a range of cards and prints that are strikingly beautiful and eye-catching.

SHORT COURSES
Painting Leaves
1) Tuesday 18th July – Friday 21st July: 10am – 4.30pm
2) Monday 18th September – Thursday 21st September: 10am – 4.30pm

Fees: £250 inclusive of refreshments and lunch
Leaves are most difficult to paint successfully. During this 4-day course we shall explore the basic morphology of leaves and observe and record them accurately in perspective. Analysis of the many hues found in leaves and practice in colour mixing will be followed by creating and painting a composition of a variety of leaves.

Accommodation is available at an extra cost.
A deposit of £75 will be required on booking

'COME AND TRY' DAYS
Tuesdays 13th June, 20th June, 27th June and 4th July
10am – 4pm

Come to one or more of these days aimed at the complete novice. We shall begin by painting apples and other spherical fruits and vegetables.

All materials will be provided.
