A combination of a love of gardening and pattern in nature led her
to the English Gardening School in the Chelsea Physic Garden where
she gained the prestigious Diploma in Botanical Illustration.
Helen is Course Director of the one-year diploma course in Botanical
Illustration at the English Gardening School. She also available
for tuition at home.
Helen has exhibited at galleries in London, the Shires and overseas
including Ebury Galleries, London, Ursus Gallery, New York and the
Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburg, USA. Most
recently her work has been shown at the Mall Galleries, and her
original watercolours are in many private collections.
Helen’s work has been selected for inclusion in the Highgrove
Florilegium. This is presently being created under the umbrella
of the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation and will celebrate
and record in a permanent way the flora in the garden at Highgrove.
Helen has four paintings in the archives of the Chelsea Physic Garden.
She is a painting member of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium
Society and the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society. Two of
Helen’s paintings are in the permanent collection of the Hunt
Institute for Botanical Documentation.
In 2000 Helen was commissioned by the League of Friends of the Royal
London Homoeopathic Hospital to commemorate the 150th anniversary
of the founding of the hospital. The painting, Calendula officinalis,
was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
